115th Fighter Wing mission continues despite Winter Storm Draco
Chief Master Sgt. David Martin, 115th Civil Engineer Squadron, clears walking paths at Truax Field's 115th Fighter Wing as Winter Storm Draco continues to drop snow across the Northern Midwest Dec. 20. Although many local businesses and school are closed throughout the area, the 115th Fighter Wing remains open and ready for business. “The Wisconsin Air National Guard stands ready to execute our state mission, including domestic operations, by supporting relief efforts during natural disasters -- such as severe blizzards,” said 115th Fighter Wing Commander Col. Wisconsin Air National Guard Staff Sgt. Timothy I. Donnan, of the 115th Explosive Ordnance Disposal flight, receives the Purple Heart from Maj. Gen. Donald P. Dunbar, adjutant general of Wisconsin, in a ceremony at Truax Field, Madison, Wis., Dec. 3. Air National Guard logistics and travel management specialists of the 115th Fighter Wing in Madison, Wis. joined forces with the pilots and crew of a C-130J fom the 317th Airlift Group, Dias Air Force Base, Texas to provide transportation of humanitarian supplies and equipment. The supplies, provided by the Wisconsin based Good News Project, and Madison Breakfasy Rotary included educational materials for Afganistan elementary schools and Medical supplies for clinics in the Commonwealth of Dominica.

The Wisconsin National Guard Airmen joined forces with the pilots and crew of a C-130J from the 317th Airlift Group, Dias Air Force Base, Texas, to provide transportation of humanitarian supplies and equipment donated by both volunteer organizations. The donated supplies included educational materials for Afghanistan elementary schools, and Medical supplies for clinics in the Commonwealth of Dominica.

The Gift of Giving
115th Fighter Wing Maintenance Operations Flight Supervisor 2nd Lt. Brian Wyman, his wife Shawna, lead volunteer for the unit's Airman and Family Readiness Program, and son Paxton, join 115th Fighter Wing Commander, Brig. Gen. Joseph Brandemuehl in recognizing the selfless efforts of their daughter Niki on November 02, 2011. Niki celebrated her 12th birthday by requesting donations for deployed unit members in lieu of gifts, which helped make possible the shipment of dozens of care packages to Wisconsin National Guard members spending their holidays far from home and family.
