Brian Gilbertson, top left, a member of the 115th Fighter Wing Crash Damage Disabled Aircraft Recovery (CDDAR) team, directs a local civilian crane operator while moving the unit's static display F-16 August 23rd, 2008. The unit’s static display will be repainted and stenciled in the coming months, then placed back onto a larger pad. Improved dawn and dusk lighting will be installed to showcase the jet during low light periods of the day. The CDDAR team is comprised of many maintenance specialties that range from electrical to hydraulics. Their operational mission is to extricate and recover disabled aircraft. Onboard a UH-1 Huey "Air Ambulance", Flight Medic Sgt Eric Leuckert from the Army National Guard's 832nd Medical Company in West Bend, Wisconsin searches for survivors through the flooded streets of downtown New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The Hurricane made landfall near Buras, Louisiana on August 29th 2005 with winds up to 230km/h and by the following day had broken two New Orleans levees covering 80 percent of the city with water from nearby Lake Pontchartrain.
