CMSgt Maria Chew is the Command Chief at the 115th Fighter Wing, Truax Field, Madison, Wisconsin. As command chief, she is a liaison between the wing commander and those who execute the mission, primarily focusing on the enlisted force. Chief Chew advises the commander and senior leadership on mission effectiveness, professional development, military readiness, training, health, morale, and welfare of the enlisted force and takes action to address challenges.
CMSgt Chew enlisted in the Wisconsin Army National Guard in February 1999, beginning her career as an Administrative Specialist. She later transitioned to Army Aviation, where she served as a UH-60 Helicopter Crew Chief and Standardization Instructor. In 2010, she enlisted in the Wisconsin Air National Guard as a Personnel Apprentice. Over the course of her career, she has held numerous leadership positions, including Volk Field Senior Enlisted Leader, Administration Base Functional Manager, Manpower and Personnel Superintendent, and Security Forces Manager.
Prior to her current role, Chief Chew was the Senior Enlisted Leader with the 115th Mission Support Group, 115th Fighter Wing, Truax Field, Madison, Wisconsin. She has deployed in support of Operation NEW HORIZONS, BRIGHT STAR, and ENDURING FREEDOM.
