The first incentive ride in the F-16 D-model went to Master Sgt. Pete Karabis. Sergeant Karabis was selected in a random drawing to be the initial “passenger”. The ride included approaches at Volk Field, simulated bombing and gunnery passes at Hardwood Range and a supersonic run over Lake Michigan. Pictured at top left are Karabis (rear cockpit), his brother, Master Sgt. Nick Karabis (rear ladder), and incentive ride pilot and wing commander Brig. Gen. Fred Sloan (front ladder).
