Utilizing the rescue crane in their UH-1 "Air Ambulance", members of the 832nd Medical Company from West Bend, Wisconsin prepare to hoist a Hurricane Katrina survivor from an apartment building completely surrounded by flood waters. The Hurricane made landfall near Buras, Louisiana on August 29th 2005 with winds up to 230km/h and by the following day had broken two New Orleans levees covering 80 percent of the city with water from nearby Lake Pontchartrain.
