Wisconsin Flood Relief Initial Awareness Assessment
Pilot Lt Col Steve Dunai from the 115th Fighter Wing, Madison, WI studies mission materials in the cockpit of an RC-26 during an initial flood awareness assessment mission in the skies over Wisconsin June 10th, 2008. This RC-26 aircraft is specifically designed for viewing and transmitting high quality video and still imagery to military and civilian Operations Centers in real-time. The imagery captured during this mission was used to assess the integrity of several area Dams in addition to providing flood damage assessment in the hardest hit regions of the southern half of the state. The capabilities of this aircraft give military commanders and civilian first responders a bird's eye view of significant events as they happen. (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt.
