Lt. Col. Wilhelmina Panzer took over command of the 115th Maintenance Group here Dec. 1, during a change of command ceremony at the 115th Fighter Wing here.

Panzer was previously the inspector general for the 115th FW before taking the position of Col. Christopher Green, 115th MXG outgoing commander, who is now reassigned as the vice commander of the 115th FW.

When Panzer first came in as a young maintenance officer it was her goal to someday be the commander of the largest organization in the 115th FW with approximately 550 of the Air Forces finest maintainers.

“For me this job really is a dream come true,” said Panzer. “I have always loved and believed in aircraft maintenance and the amazing people that do it.”

While this job is a dream come true for Panzer, it won’t be easy to maintain the standards Green set for the 115th MXG.

Over the past two years Green executed the fighter wings’ number one mission with zero aircraft discrepancies and a near perfect weapons pass rate, said Col. Erik Peterson, the 115th FW commander who presided over the ceremony.

“The pride and ownership of our fleet by your maintenance team is evident,” said Peterson. “Your trust, motivation and support for the Airmen of the 115th Maintenance Group forged an awesome team. Thank you for being their mentor, their advocate and their leader.”
