115th Fighter Wing commander promoted to Brigadier General

The 115th Fighter Wing is pleased to announce the promotion of Wing Commander Joseph J. Brandemuehl to Brigadier General, effective April 28. General Brandemuehl has been the 115th Fighter Wing commander since April 2004.

General Brandemuehl began his career on active duty as an enlisted Airman serving at Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark. He came to the 115th Fighter Wing in 1983 after serving four years on active duty. General Brandemuehl received his commission in 1985 after graduating from the Air National Guard Academy of Military Science. He is a command pilot with over 3,200 flying hours and served as chair of the Air National Guard F-16 Fighter Weapon Systems Council from April 2007 to April 2009.

Governor Jim Doyle will officially recognize General Brandemuehl's promotion at the State Capitol at a later date.
