More than 700 Airmen attended the first annual 115th Fighter Wing Awards Ceremony in Hangar 406 Feb. 7.

The ceremony, led by 2nd Lt. Roger Roth, 115 FW public affairs officer, gave leadership the opportunity to recognize their outstanding Airmen in front of the base populace and distinguished guests.

"Individuals are nominated on the basis of their work ethic, their leadership qualities, and for meeting mission objectives in a manner above and beyond expectations," Roth said.

The award categories included Airmen and officer of the year awards, as well as workplace, organization and first sergeant of the year awards.

The Airman and officer of the year award recipients included Senior Airman Troy Gibbs, operations group, Staff Sgt. David Brown, medical group, Senior Master Sgt. Brian Carroll, mission support group, and Capt. Kathryn McComb, medical group. Several additional award winners were recognized during the ceremony.

"The tremendous achievements by these Airmen could not have happened without the support, teamwork and dedication of their leaders, peers and subordinates," said Col. Jeffrey Wiegand, 115 FW commander. "I am extremely proud to serve with the outstanding Airmen of this Wing and the Wisconsin Air National Guard."
