Are You Game?

"Dude, you've got to be into this!" said one engineering student with great excitement to his wide-eyed college buddy, his friend's eyes and ears now wide open. What was he talking about? He was talking about the Bible's message which God had recently used to change the orientation of his entire life. He had believed the message and through it,
embraced the message Giver.

Some of you might marvel when the emotions of normally stoic engineering types are so moved, but the word of God reaches the heart. Like a person lost and cold in a pitch black woods on a moonless night, how sweet and delicious to the eyes is the discovery of a single porch light. Even so, a true word from God pierces your darkness. It rejoices your soul and comforts your heart with a higher perspective you had not even considered.
Regardless of your take on the good book, I would like to ask each one to take the Proverbs challenge. The biblical book of Proverbs is filled with short pithy little sayings that are energizing powerhouses to wise living when heeded. I challenge you to read a chapter a day for thirty-one days, whether you deploy or not, and if possible, get your mate to do the same.

Divine words, like great music, go right to the heart and strangely transform their readers. Read and ask the Spirit of God to apply the words of God to you. Read the same chapter in the morning and again in the evening because this is how great spiritual leaders of the past like Charles Spurgeon used to feed themselves on God's word. I can tell you, it really works. Google the book Charles Spurgeon wrote, "Morning and Evening," if you wish but remember the challenge is for one chapter a day from the biblical book of Proverbs.
